Isn't it supposed to be Spirited Away?
Anyone who have seen Hayao Miyazaki's 2001 Japanese animated film titled Spirited Away will certainly, at a glance, think that this site doesn't have anything to do with the film. And they are right, in a sense, as this is no fan site, to say the least. But the underlying theme and message of his film is well represented in this blog.
The major theme of Spirited Away revolves around the protagonist and her journey into the other world. She traveled far and wide into the unknown, discovered strange yet interesting things, uncovered perplexing mysteries; all this by her lone self. Entering the new world signified her passage from being a child to an adult while being bound to social norms and boundaries.
Why Spiriting Away?
By transforming the verb into present participle means that the action, spirit away--meaning to remove without anyone noticing, was a continuous and ever-continuing process. Unceasing, on-going, never-ending.
What's the significance of the movie to this journal?
This journal basically chronicles and recounts the author's passage to the other worlds, to the worlds the author have not yet become accustomed to, to the worlds other people look out for. It illustrate and describe the author's travels and journeys into the far unknown; going solo most of the time. There is no passage from being a child to an adult quite yet as the journey is still unceasing, on-going, never-ending.
